Hey, Cissnei, you know the Vulpix egg you gave me?
It hatched!

There's a problem though... Is it normal for baby Vulpix to be scared of fire?

Yeah... It's a nightmare to get it to use ember, and I couldn't even light a fire to set up camp for the night when I tried to leave Violet City.

A couple of them have been skittish but nothing quite like this.

One of them is a bit scared of..everything.

And another is just rather average skittish. Startles easily.

Considering every other one I've met is rather regal? Yeah. It's weird.

Kaede is..skittish. But she also lost her trainer twice so it's understandable how she is.

That's not a bad way of looking at it.

Maybe it's related to the fear of fire? I mean, the richest girl I know isn't very skittish, but if the siblings are all like that...

I am sorry your Vulpix has developed such an odd quirk.

But maybe with a bit of time you can help it overcome the fear?

That's the plan... It's weird, seeing something born with a fear like that.

But you don't have to apologize, it's not your fault. I'm sure Oohirume will be fine.

Maybe focusing on non-fire moves for now would help. Vulpix are able to learn a pretty nice spread of moves so perhaps until yours can gain a bit more confidence and less fear, try teaching some dark, psychic or ghost type moves.

If you want, I could send a few TMs your way, as a way to make up for the inconvenience.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to try to focus on.
