[ Well, I say video, but Haurchefant thought he had put it on audio - he's in more casual wear, the 'gear near to him as he's examining his broken armour with his Servine, pointing out areas the Grass-type could help keep more solid for but a little. His white shirt does show the slight outline of his scar underneath. ]
--I hope this is the right number this time, else I may accidentally call a child again and hear of Rattata... Hello - have you been traveling well? I apologize if this is unwanted, but we both arrived near the same time, Lady Cissnei.
[Cissnei can't help but smile faintly at the familiar voice, snagging her 'gear off her belt as she leans on the railing of the ferry that's taking her out to the Sevii Islands.]
Hello, Haurchefant. It's not unwanted at all; it's good to hear from you actually. I'm doing alright. On my way out to see some local islands. How has travel been for you?
It's been quite splendid - I made it to Saffron City but this morning. But... with my destination so close, I think I'll remain here for a few days. If you happen to find yourself up here, I've a rather large room for but one person.
[ A pause, as he decides to look down - oh! A video! He decides to look at it with a smile - telling his Servine, Aymeric, that they'll continue later. ]
I'd not noticed there were islands, however - where might those be?
I was thinking of taking up a job - not only to gather Gil-- or whatever the currency of this land is called, but to gather information. Can you believe there seems to be no armorers? But I'd need to linger for quite some time for that.
[ He lets out a little laugh, before letting himself relax. ]
I've not been to the sea before - far too busy aiding in the Dragonsong War, but... even that cruise to Pallet Town was splendid. Is it much different to that?
Outside of constant battling, getting a job does seem like the best means of keeping up a good savings to fall back on.
[She's been doing odd jobs here and there herself. Just nothing steady yet.]
It might be worthwhile for you to travel a bit and get a feel for the resources available before you settle down and become a full time armorer. It'll give you a chance to find the best city to set up shop in, too.
[Though she can't help but wonder if armor for Pokemon would be something more people would be interested in here.]
Not much, just a different view is all. Apparently the islands we're heading to are very nice. Tropical, full of all sorts of interesting Pokemon variations. I'm only going to spend a couple days on the islands but if I find anything interesting I'll send pictures.
Constant battles may tired our allies, as well - even beasts require rest.
True - it's not a skill I harnessed in Eorzea - but would it not be helpful? Even if we are not meant to fight with our fists, these beasts are still a danger. Do you recall prom? One of those large bats bit me quite badly. [ And yet, he can laugh it off. Which turns to a little sorrow, as he closes his eyes. ]
I'd enjoy that, Cissnei. Those variations - that would be where the two Vulpix came from, then. I've an egg of one - the snow-like Ice-type. I've already chosen a name for when they hatch.
[Like Reno. Her little Vulpix is quite the lazy bum sometimes.]
You got it looked at, I hope. The last thing anyone wants is to end up with an infected Pokemon bite.
And I guess you do have a point, in that sort of situation. There are some pretty large Pokemon out there--some that could do a lot of damage if prompted.
[She smiles again.] I got the chance to meet one of the ice Vulpix at Prom. They are very lovely. What name did you pick out?
Of course! But I could not simply stop investigating - there were others who needed help more.
[ That's what he does. Plus he was still trying to figure out if he was dear or alive. ]
And her name shall be Iceheart - after one I wished to know more. She was the leader of the heretic, and could turn into Shiva. How much could I have learned?
That's true but you won't be able to help in the future, if it's needed, if you get sick.
[Silly boy.]
Shiva...it's still interesting to me how many similarities there are between our worlds. I can't imagine it would have been easy to learn about someone that could become a summon.
[Straight to the point, no greeting. She can probably tell just from his expression that he's found something he's determined to be suspicious, so he's looking for answers. She's the only one that seems interested in the same, so here he is.]
[That's alright. She's use to this sort of thing; she worked with Tseng back home after all.]
Will, Koga, Bruno, Karen and Lance. Very strong individual in terms of the Pokemon teams, perhaps not the brightest. They were captured by Team Rocket a couple months back during the whole Prom debacle. Individuals can challenge their teams to become champions themselves at the Indigo Plateau. Outside of that, I've been told they don't know much of anything else outside of the normal mechanics of this world. I haven't questioned them myself though.
So you haven't heard about the supposed rumor that they can send us home, then. Someone else suggested that rumor was started because someone misunderstood another fact about this world. He doesn't think it's worth looking into, but if there's even a chance of understanding what we're doing in this place I intend to look into it.
I think one of them is considered the league champion, I could be wrong about that.
I have heard that rumor and I am a bit inclined to believe it if only because the driving force of this world seems to be the Pokemon themselves. Everyone here is stripped of any abilities they have upon arriving but Pokemon have abilities that you wouldn't expect a creature to have. There may still be some information worth getting from the Elite members but I have a feeling they might not have what we're looking for.
I was told that sometimes professors from other regions visit and they may have information worth getting but I haven't run into any of them myself.
Are they safe now, or are they working under Team Rocket as captives?
[Ed has no idea how this works. Or anything about Team Rocket, for that matter.]
It sounds like our best bet is to look into these pokemon, the ones you mentioned earlier... The legendary ones - think that might be the place to start?
They're safe. We were able to stop Team Rocket and free them. And the Pokemon they had captured.
[Her expression falters briefly, eyes narrowing the slightest bit because oh had that been a horrible thing to witness. All those poor Pokemon...]
Yes, I definitely do and I intend to see what sort of information I can find now that I'm starting over again in Kanto. I hadn't really thought to delve much into the information about them when I was first traveling through but I think now may be a good time to go back over everything with a finer comb.
I stick around long enough to figure out if there's anything important to be found and then move on. I had been planning on doing a second pass through all the cities anyway, so this is just putting me a little ahead in some cases.
